The Story of CLED Eco Gems

We transform upcycled glass into timeless pieces. Every Eco Gem begins its journey as a bottle or window glass collected from around Los Angeles.

At our downtown LA studio, each piece is individually cut, shaped, and polished by hand to give discarded materials a second life, turning everyday waste into a lasting statement. What is an Eco Gem Where our glass comes from

Icon Charm

Upcycling Process

1. Glass bottles are purified and cut thoroughly.
2. Each icon charm is cut from the discarded glass bottles, then the edges are sanded, and the glass is formed and annealed in the kiln.
3. Next, a hole is drilled carefully in the glass to attach the jump ring and clasp, then it is put back in the kiln to smooth out the drilled hole.
4. The icon charm is polished by hand, and all metal parts are welded.
5. The final step is to sand and polish the metals.

For engravings, the icon charm is engraved by using the sand etching technique. This engraving is permanent and will not fade.
